Step 1: Find a clinic and make an appointment

AFO provides financial support to Ohioans seeking abortion care in two main ways: at in-person clinics and through Abuzz. 

Abuzz is an AFO partner, connecting abortion seekers to clinicians who can provide abortion pills by mail for folks with pregnancies up to 13 weeks. Abortion pills by mail can be a more affordable option for folks who are eligible, interested, comfortable with virtual support. If you plan to submit an intake to Abuzz and need financial support, please complete our intake form first. 

If you plan to get care from an in-person abortion provider and need financial support, please schedule your appointment first, then complete our intake form.

You can use I Need An A or Abortion Finder to find an abortion provider in Ohio or across the country. The earlier you can make an appointment, the better—the cost of abortion care can increase each week you’re pregnant.

Abuzz connects abortion seekers with clinicians who can provide abortion pills by mail for pregnancies up to 13 weeks. Abortion pills by mail can be a more affordable option for folks who are eligible, interested, and comfortable with virtual support. Here’s what to expect when connecting with clinicians through Abuzz:

Reminder: Abortion seekers who need financial support and plan to go through Abuzz should complete AFO’s intake form before completing Abuzz’s form. 

  1. Complete their online form, which will ask a few questions to help the clinician determine eligibility for abortion pills by mail. They will also ask for information such as name and address, email, and a copy of ID.
  2. Abuzz will email instructions to access a secure portal and make a payment. A sliding scale is available to access care under $150. AFO can support Ohio abortion seekers with this cost!
  3. A US-licensed clinician will review eligibility for receiving abortion pills by mail within 1-2 business days. 
    1. In most cases, Abuzz providers don’t need a phone or video call. If the provider has more questions, they will reach out using the secure portal.
  4. FDA-approved abortion pills are sent by mail. Shipping takes 1-5 business days and detailed instructions and support are provided. Clinicians are available to answer questions 7 days a week.

Step 2: Reach out to Abortion Fund of Ohio

To request help, please use our online form. We accept new intake requests each week from Monday through Thursday at 12 pm.  

Please don’t submit more than one intake request, and do not include any sensitive information in your request, such as your social security number or any activity that may encompass legal risk.

Step 3: Wait for AFO’s Case Manager

AFO’s dedicated case managers will connect you to support within 2 business days during our financial support hours (10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Thursday). Any information you provide on your intake form or to you case manager will remain confidential.
